Tech Cool: Sasha Soundlab review

By admin On December 23rd, 2011

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been using this new software from Audio Raiders called the Sasha Soundlab. It’s a vst ensemble instrument that loads into Native Instruments Kontakt and it’s based on sounds from the master DJ and producer, except there is more: Sasha Soundlab has a variety of tools to mangle, glitch or lightly effect sounds.
This makes it a tool that fits perfectly into your working environment and sits really nice in a mix. The sonic depth and quality of basses, drums and construction loops are superb and the effects are responsive and sound great when used sparingly. This is truly an inspirational tool, aimed at the pro-studio with a substantial number of realtime mangling and color effects to propel productions to unknown wonderful territoy.. like the sounds of the master himself. A very nice addition to my rig.. Get it here for a very cool intro price: http://www.sasha-soundlab.com/

Earthbeat – Playa del Sol

By admin On March 16th, 2011

it is actually a beach in the Asia Beach region of Lima, Peru. unknowingly of course named this tune that same name.. it’s maybe something about the groove and the flute’s airy feel.. and the female sample can you place it? give it a listen:

WMC 2011 also known as Miami Ultra Week

By admin On March 16th, 2011

.. every year around this time we get a little over excited at the thought of 80 degrees and sunshine, palm trees and white sand beaches and who can forget some of the best parties this side of the Mississippi ;)
Despite the early confusion this year brought -with the conference moving to the first week of March instead of the common last week of March, the powers that be decided to do it right and said: why all the fuzz? why not have great parties on both weeks? so there ya have it.. MIAMI WMC 2011 in full effect..

As every year we’ll begin our pilgrimage into the land of lost braincells with the super fun Flying Circus party @ Nikki Beach with Damian Lazarus, Audiofly, Lee Burridge, Nic Fanciulli and many more. With such an impressive line up who could pass this up, we ask.

Next in the agenda will be the Bedrock showcase party at Cameo. It has been a while since we heard John Digweed live and what better way to do it surrounded by other fantastic djs: Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Kazell, Christian Smith, Marco Bailey.. we are in for a treat!

By now we are probably saying holyhell, that was fun! but wait, there is more to come: Thursday morning the Visionquest party with Guy Gerber, Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Shaun Reeves should be just what we need.. along with a holymary, I mean a bloody Mary ;)

Then that night we visit Shine @ Shelbourne for the amazing sounds of Nick Warren and Dave Seaman at the Hope v Therapy party.. which leaves little to say other than.. yes, come on!

A little rest and relaxation, then Saturday night we join the Ice Palace for a little session with Steve Lawler and all the great talent at ViVa Music for an incredible night of Our Sound.

Sunday will be rough, but not over until hearing the sounds of Danny Tenaglia ending the ritual the way it was meant to be…

We’ll tell you more about it later, but hopefully for now the excitement is apparent and hard to contain :)

Pictures and stories at the end of the journey!
